About the Principal

Evelyn Ruiz has been principal of the Harry C. Sharp Elementary School in the Cramer Hill section of Camden for the last 10 years. The Harry C. Sharp Elementary school serves students in grades Pre-K-7. At Sharp the teachers combine their professional skills with their love for teaching -- and for children – to guide academic excellence. Guided reading, writing workshops, inquiry-based science and mathematics, and hands-on social studies are key components of our program that provide students with opportunities to demonstrate the competencies needed to contribute and to succeed in a changing world. Students at Sharp are learning to become responsible citizens who demonstrate the tenets of Sharp students: understanding, teamwork, leadership, education, and respect.
